I have never liked wearing things on my wrist, some days I can barely tolerate a hair tie. BUT I recently learned about 24-hour watches and bought myself a Slow Watch that has 24 hour notches on it, so you can really see how much of the day has passed and how much remains.

My life is busy and full and wearing this watch has actually made me pause throughout the day and be mindful of how I’m spending my time.

I got my first watch when I was 7 from my grandparents, and I loved it. I wore it every day until I lost it playing catch with my dad when I was 12 or so. I got 2 watches for my birthday afterwards, but none of them stuck the same way. A few years ago, my beloved grandma passed away and I received her Dior Bulova watch – and it was perfect. I wore it every day, but on a trip to London a while later something happened – I don’t know if I was pickpocketed or whether it just fell off because the clasp was a little broken, but I lost it on the tube. I cried so much. I was so ashamed. I still miss it, I still miss her, and I’m still hoping to find one just like it sometime in the future.

For autumn and winter, it’s a black on black Movado with diamond disc. For spring and summer it’s a white ceramic Citizen eco drive with floating diamonds that slide around. I feel naked without a watch on.
